27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid (Psalm 27:1)?
When we rely on God, we are relying on His sovereign control of our lives. When you think about it, there should be nothing to fear in life. Since God is our light and salvation, there is really nothing that can have power over us, except God. Of course in our daily lives it is difficult not to fear. We are human after all. But God reminds us that it is He who is our strength and the light of our salvation. Therefore, there is nothing that can truly overcome us. We need only realize this fact. We look forward to the day that we realize that all fear has already been removed.
