25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities (Acts 3:25-26).
The purpose of Christ’s life, death and resurrection is to bless us. This is the profound love of God that God Himself would be willing to go to such extremes to save. But this is what was foretold from the beginning and made manifest in the work of Christ. The plan for redemption is a plan that involves God’s actions on behalf of the very people that were and are in rebellion against Him. God is merciful and God is gracious. If this were not so our sins would be held against us. Thank you God for your mercy and grace.
