5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. 7 And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein (Genesis 5-7).
The significance of Man being created in the image of God is evident in these verses. Man is so special of a creation that God made Man in His own image. Image is a reflection or a representation of the original. So, Man as a special creation of God is unique and wonderful. Therefore, anything that tarnishes Man tarnishes God. And if Man’s actions are the cause of problem, then those actions are wrong and must be avoided.
