5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life (2 Corinthians 3:5-6).
Our power and strength comes from God. The Holy Spirit strengthens us and guides us as we accomplish the work God desires. Doing things on our own accord and according to our own way without relying on God really limits our strength and impact. We can impact the world for the Gospel’s sake much more profoundly when we rely on the Holy Spirit to act in our lives. In fact, failing to rely on the Spirit results in unfruitful results. So, we in all things, should rely not on our sufficiency but rather on the sufficiency of the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
