11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. 14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession (Hebrews 4:11-14).
These verses from Hebrews tell us about some of the qualities of God. God as our Creator is our Sabbath rest. Our rest then is in Him. God is all-powerful and His Word therefore contains the very power of God. God is all-knowing and so there is nothing that is hidden from God. God through the person and work of Jesus Christ is the great high priest (on the order of Melchizedek). It is Christ then who intercedes for us before the Father and it is Christ that protects us from the accusations of our accuser (Satan). God is the all-powerful, all knowing Creator of heaven and earth with His sights set on redeeming people through the power of the living Word of God, Jesus Christ.
