4They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away (Psalm 69:4).
25But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause (John 15:25).
The hatred of Christ as seen in his unfair trial, subsequent torture and death is difficult to fathom. It seems Christ is hated without reason. Unfortunately, Christ and all things related to true Christianity seem to be hated by some people today as well. This should cause us to wonder. Why is one that says, “Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and all thy soul and love your neighbor as yourself”, hated? The answer is because Christ asks people to think about someone other than himself or herself. He asks us not to worship ourselves but rather to worship God. At the core of hatred then is actually rebellion. People rebel when they do not wish to obey God. So, some people in the world hate Christ without just cause rebelling against Him and His word. We pray that we will be obedient to Christ and we pray for all people to come to know and love Christ.
