8God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows (Numbers 24:8).
13And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. 14When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: 15And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son (Matthew 2:13-15).
Balaam son of Beor was the one that prophesized about Christ in Numbers 24. Although Balaam in the end became evil, he was still used by God to prophesy. In this prophecy the Messiah is brought out of Egypt. The fulfillment of the prophecy occurs when Joseph and Mary fled with Jesus to Egypt in order to avoid Herod’s order to kill all the young children in Bethlehem. Once Herod died they subsequently returned to Galilee. What a horrible reason to have to flee. We can see the hatred that Herod had for Christ even when Christ was a baby. This hatred was satanic. God however provides provision for his Messiah. He warns the family to escape to Egypt and then He calls them back out of Egypt once the danger had passed. This prophecy is very specific and is another requirement that Christ met as Messiah.
