3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake (Psalm 23:3).
The 23rd Psalm is arguably one of the best known in all of scripture. It is also a Psalm about God’s sovereignty. In the third verse of the Psalm, notice that it is God that is doing all the actions. God restores and God leads. We learn that the purpose of God restoring and leading is for His glory. Since it is God that acts on our behalf, it is God that deserves the glory. Additionally, the fact that God chooses to restore and lead should be very comforting to us. It is comforting to know that God loves us.
