11If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. 12Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. 13For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. 14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well (Psalm 139: 11-14).
There are several Psalms that speak of the creation and the Creator (Psalm 8, 19, 29, 100, 139, and others). I frankly had a hard time choosing which one we should discuss. But in the end, Psalm 139 was chosen because it is one of the most amazing passages of scripture.
The Creator, your Creator, knew you and cared for you before you were born. In your mother’s womb you were known and loved by God. You were wonderfully made. How awesome is that? The Creator of the all the cosmos, the maker of heaven and earth, personally brought you into existence. There is no greater passage in all of scripture that establishes the value of human life than Psalm 139. What the Creator God values, we also should value. Remembering that God made you will help put life in perspective. If you think about it, since the Creator was involved with you before you were born, He desires to be involved with you now and throughout all eternity. Come into relationship with the God that wonderfully made you, He will cover you now as He did in your mother’s womb. The Creator is coverer.
