13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid (Matthew 5:13-14).
We are told in scripture to be salt and light in the world. We are to improve and guide those around us. The world, although ever increasing in knowledge, in many cases lacks the true knowledge of God. Through our influence in teaching and by our example we should seek out the lost and help as many people as possible to come to the true knowledge of God. In order to be effective, we cannot hide our faith. We are to show, on a daily basis, the effects of the Gospel in and on our lives. Be the salt and light to the world.
