24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. 25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand (Daniel 8:24-25).
This prophecy from Daniel is a yet unfulfilled prophecy concerning the rise of a ruler set against God. The prophecy is concerning the end-times and will occur some time in the future. The point of God giving us information regarding future events is not so we can try and figure out when certain events will occur but rather so we will know that God is in control. Additionally, we are to know that God will be victorious and all that He commands will come to pass. God set His plan for redemption before the foundation of the world and all things will come to fruition according to God’s foreknowledge and purposes-To the glory of God.
